Sorry I've been so horrible about writing lately! I'm just an old missionary focusing on the work :P
These past few weeks have been really good. I'm with Elder Tonks in Stowmarket (Still Bury St. Edmunds ward, just a different flat.) and we're killing it. We're constantly trying to improve our focus and do God's work! It's been good to see the progression that we make. We've got two people on date for baptism and we've got a good teaching pool. We're working hard to get involved with the members and that's always gone well in the Bury ward! We actually just had a fantastic Easter Activity this past weekend with them and had a great time. They even had some baseball equipment and we got to play a game after. It's been ages! But anyway. The work goes on. And it's a good work. One of my favourite scriptures/prophets recently that I might've already shared.. It's Mormon! He sends a couple epistles to his son Moroni and we're lucky enough to read them. In one of them Mormon tells his son how hard the work has been and how hard the people's hearts are (don't worry, I'm not saying we're encountering hard hearts haha) and then he goes on to tell Moroni to keep working with all diligence anyway! He had just said what he's tried and that it didn't work but that you've got to keep going. Mormon was such a hardcore missionary willing to work with his might mind and strength to the end. It's amazing the example he set for his son and for the world. I'm grateful for that example and I'm happy to try my best to work with all my might mind and strength and give it all to God.
And Mormon's example doesn't just go for missionaries, it goes to all members. Our friends might have hard hearts but that's okay. We can always give them opportunities to take the gospel and change. And it's up to them to take that opportunity or not, as long as you do your duty and provide it. Pray for those opportunities! It'll give you a wonderful experience.
